When will Air Travel start again?
2020-04-25
Passenger traffic by the end of 2020 will fall by 48%, this forecast was made by the International Air Transport Association (IATA).
As a result, airlines will lose 314 billion dollars.
Most of all, the aviation industry will suffer in Europe, here passenger turnover will fall by 55%, and least of all in the USA, by 36%. But the economic effect of a pandemic can reach 4% of global GDP, which is more than during the global financial crisis in 2009.
IATA predicts that domestic air travel will begin to recover after the quarantine is lifted - around the third quarter of this year, while international flights will recover much later, no later than the fourth quarter.
